A native Texan, Chandra was born in Fort Worth and grew up in Denton. As an undergraduate she earned a BA in History and International Studies, and studied British History and Politics in England, and Mandarin Chinese at Tung Hai University in Taiwan. Chan later attended graduate school in Michigan, studying International Development and Diplomacy. After college Chan returned to Texas, spending several years working in NPO and NGO administration and consulting.
In 2006, Chan purchased her first home, a midcentury ranch style built in 1952. What began as minor updates soon led to a full renovation project lasting 3 years. Supervising the restoration of her home provided a crash course in all things electrical, environmental, plumbing, and structural. The knowledge she obtained sparked a passion for residential architecture and a desire to help others navigate the home buying, building, and owning processes; leading Chan to obtain her Real Estate License in 2009.
In addition to her personal experiences, Chan’s education and professional background in finance, communications, negotiation, and diplomacy, helps her deliver a positive homebuying experience for each of her clients. Chan works tirelessly to ensure her clients thoroughly understand the buying and selling process, get the answers they need, and find a home they love. This “white glove” service has helped Chan build a business based largely on referrals and repeat clients.
In additional to helping her clients, Chan is also passionate about using her time and resources to benefit the community. She serves as an Election Judge for Travis County and previously served as a Policy Ambassador for the Austin Board of Realtors. She is also an avid supporter of local organizations including: ProjectArt Wimberley, Austin Pets Alive, the Blanton Museum of Art, Austin Wildlife Rescue, and holds season tickets to the Austin Opera.
Chan lives in South Austin with her partner of 14 years and their four cats; Sally Ride, Madeleine Albright, Clementine Churchill, Luna Lovegood and their cockatiel, Howard Hughes.
When not working, she and Ben enjoy collecting art, sampling Austin’s renowned local restaurants, listening to live music, and planning their next trip to new parts of the world.
