Frisco & Prosper

North of Plano, with The Star, PGA Frisco and Toyota Stadium in Frisco and a historic downtown at Broadway and Main in Prosper.

Living in Frisco and Prosper

Frisco sits north of Plano on the Collin and Denton county line and is home to The Star, the Dallas Cowboys headquarters, as well as PGA Frisco and Toyota Stadium. Prosper, just to the north, centers on its historic downtown at Broadway and Main Street.

What we love about it

The Star has restaurants, the Ford Center and practice-facility tours. PGA Frisco offers public championship golf with a free putting course, Frisco Commons Park has a splash pad, and the new Universal Kids Resort is Universal's theme park built for young children. In Prosper, Frontier Park has lit fields and a trail, and Downtown Prosper hosts town festivals.

Getting around and schools

The Dallas North Tollway and SH 121 (Sam Rayburn Tollway) are the main routes, with US 380 to the north. Frisco ISD serves most of Frisco, and Prosper ISD serves Prosper and parts of north Frisco, Celina and McKinney. School boundaries can change and do not always follow city lines, so we always suggest confirming the assigned schools for any specific address with the district.

Homes you'll find here

Most homes here are in newer master-planned communities, many with their own pools, trails and amenities. You will find townhomes near Frisco Square and The Star, and larger lots and new construction in Prosper.

Parks, events and weekends

Frisco Square hosts concerts and community events through the year. The National Videogame Museum is a fun stop, and the Frisco RoughRiders play minor league baseball at Riders Field. In Prosper, downtown events and the town's parks keep weekends close to home.

Before you buy

Check a few things by the home's address, not just the city name: the school district, the property tax rates on the county appraisal district's site, and whether the home is in a MUD, PID or HOA, each of which can add its own taxes, assessments or dues. Look the home up on FEMA's flood maps and get homeowners insurance quotes early. Hail is common in North Texas, so ask how the roof's age and any wind and hail deductible affect your coverage. Most of the area is in an Oncor area with a choice of electric provider, and the Tollway and Sam Rayburn Tollway make an NTTA TollTag useful.
